QUALIFICATIONS:                        

The bus monitor must be 18 years of age, a high school graduate or equivalent, possess high standards and character, and be physically able to assist in an emergency. The bus monitor needs a positive attitude and should be sensitive towards children, self-controlled, flexible, mature, and caring.

 

DESCRIPTION:

This position involves responsibility for the routine supervision and care of school-age children as well as the maintenance of order and discipline in a school vehicle. Assists students in getting on and off the bus safely.  Carries out any other assigned duties and/or responsibilities.

                                                     

The exact hours will be discussed during the interview.  Drives a school bus on a regular schedule, on an assigned route, or special occasions.  Maintains orderly conduct on the bus, including student management. 

 

TERMS:

According to the terms established by the Agreement between the Superintendent and the Transportation Association.

POSITION: School Bus Driver

QUALIFICATIONS:                        

Bus driver candidates must meet NYSED fingerprinting requirements and hold an NYS Class B CDL with Passenger and School endorsements.  Must be able to pass a drug test, a Physical Performance test, and a 19A Physical. 

DESCRIPTION:

Duties include but are not limited to, operating the school bus on a daily run, performing required pre- and post-check of the school bus, keeping the assigned bus clean, filling out daily reports of mileage, defects, incidents, and bus condition, and following proper driving techniques and all vehicle and traffic laws.
