Responsibilities
• An individual who is optimistic, who sees events positively and anticipates the best possible outcome.
• Able to encourage and sustain others’ efforts as they work toward goals.
• Practices procedures in food preparation, use and care of equipment, and personal habits to ensure that sanitation standards are met.
• Attends job-related training classes and workshops, as requested.
• Follows standards of safety in preparing, storing, and serving food.
• Works on serving line, placing food or beverage on trays according to menu and diet requirements.
• Follows the cook/manager's instructions in producing and serving food.
• Follows cook/manager's instructions in portioning, garnishing, and serving meals.
• Participates in implementing promotion of special school and community activities consistent with Board policy.
• Maintains required forms and records as assigned by cook manager.
• Reports for all work assignments in proper attire.
• Demonstrates ability and willingness to function at all work stations.
• Participates in implementing cost containment measures while maintaining quality.
• Receives and stores food, supplies and chemicals.
• Operates cash register.
• Washes dishes, pots and pans.
• Sweeps, mops and cleans kitchen.
• Slices and grinds meat, cheeses, vegetables, etc.
• Works cooperatively with school personnel, students, and the community.
• Carries out any other assigned duties and/or responsibilities which may be deemed appropriate by the Superintendent of Schools (or designee) and the Board of Education.

Evaluation Performance of this job will be evaluated annually by the Director fo Food Service with input from the cook manager in accordance with Board of Education policy.

Terms of Employment

Ten (10) months per year according to the terms established by the Agreement between the Superintendent and the Support Staff Association

Responsibilities

  1. Assists Head Custodial Worker with minor building repairs;
  2. Upkeep grounds
  3. Maintain security of buildings
  4. Prepares parts of the building for specified functions
  5. Inspect the lighting system
  6. Scrubs and finished floor
  7. Cuts grass
  8. Assists the Head Custodian with supervision of Custodial Workers, Cleaners, and Summer Helpers;
  9. Removes snow
  10. Receives shipments
  11. Prepare cleaning schedules

Other: Performs related duties as required or assigned.

 

Evaluation: The performance of this job will be evaluated annually by the Director of Buildings and Grounds and in accordance with the Board of Education policy.

 

Terms of Employment: Twelve (12) months per year according to the terms established by the Agreement between the Superintendent and the Support Staff Association.
