Responsibilities

An individual who is optimistic, who sees events positively and anticipates the best possible outcome.

Able to encourage and sustain others’ efforts as they work toward goals.

  1. Supervises student behavior in the cafeteria  
  2. Serves food and cashiers as requested.  
  3. Assists kitchen staff in carrying, packing, and unpacking supplies and foods.  
  4. Wipes tables and chairs/benches between lunch periods.  
  5. Collects trash, empties and cleans trash containers, and replaces liners.  
  6. Labels trash containers and encourages recycling.  
  7. Sweeps and mops the floor.  
  8. Cleans serving area and equipment.  
  9. Cleans other areas as requested by building administration.  
  10. Facilitates student movement in the lunch line.  
  11. Assists students in opening food and beverage containers.  
  12. Supervises students in cleaning up meal debris and tables.  
  13. Supervises students to and from bathrooms.  
  14. Wears clothing appropriate for health, safety, and sanitation.

 Other related duties as assigned by Director of Food Service, Cook, Assistant Cook, or Building Administrator. 

Evaluation

Performance of the job will be evaluated annually by the Building Principal or Director of Food Service in accordance with Board of Education policy. 

Terms of Employment

 10-month position. In accordance with the terms and conditions set by the Board of Education.

Responsibilities

  1. Cleans, sweeps, mops, washes walls, dusts, cleans and polishes furniture and windows, woodwork, railings, window coverings, stairs, hallways and restrooms. 
  2. Empties waste baskets, pencil sharpeners, etc. and disposes of rubbish. 
  3. Cleans and washes lavatory fixtures, mirrors, chalk boards and chalk trays. 
  4. Replaces light bulbs, dispensers, etc. Fills dispensers with soap, disposable paper products, etc. 
  5. Vacuums and cleans carpets and furniture; straightens office, classroom and cafeteria furniture. 
  6. Secures and locks windows and doors. 
  7. Turns off lights and small appliances. 
  8. Provides continuous awareness of all safety precautions, procedures, etc. and reports problems/deficiencies. 
  9. Gives assistance as necessary to educational personnel. 
  10. Performs duties as may be assigned by the Head Custodian (or designee). 
  11. Participates in minor grounds activities including, but not limited to, mowing, weeding, painting, and snow removal.

Terms of Employment
