FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS:
-Provide individual and group instructional services to students under the general supervision of a licensed or certified teacher. -Assist classroom teacher in the implementation of Individualized Education Plans/504 Plans, if applicable. -Adapt and implement classroom lessons and activities under the supervision of the teacher. -Work cooperatively with staff, administration, and consultants to meet all students’ needs. -Communicate effectively with the team including classroom teachers, other professional staff and parents. -Collect data and provide input to the behavioral specialist and classroom team. -Plan and implement daily activities under the supervision of the teacher. -Assist with maintaining record-keeping. -Attend staffing meetings and training before and after school as needed. -Perform such other duties as may be assigned by the classroom teacher or building administrator as deemed necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of the position.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Fingerprint Clearance
High School Diploma or GED
Registered for or have taken the NYS Teaching Certification Exam – ATAS
Child Abuse Identification Workshop completed within one year
School Violence Intervention and Prevention Workshop completed within one year
New York State Certification
